About the role
WorkPac are seeking a Manager Asset Lifecycle to lead the asset lifecycle team, providing whole-of-life oversight of electricity network assets. This role focuses on lifecycle planning, risk management, and optimisation across the asset portfolio, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with organisational objectives. The role also provides engineering expertise to support near-term asset management decision-making.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development of asset class plans, maintenance management, and replacement expenditure forecasting
Provide leadership and mentorship to uplift team capability and promote continuous improvement
Develop and coach asset engineers and maintenance specialists, embedding consistent ways of working
Oversee coordination across asset classes to ensure evidence-based, outcome-driven lifecycle planning
Establish and govern key asset management frameworks, including risk assessment methodologies and defect classification guidelines
Support operational activities with timely engineering advice, defect investigations, and asset performance initiatives
Monitor team and asset performance using KPIs, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and risk tolerances
Act as a key interface between asset management, network planning, commercial, and regulatory teams
Develop business cases for improvements in asset lifecycle processes
Lead the development of planned maintenance and repex programs for business planning and regulatory submissions
Champion and role model organisational culture principles and behaviours
Skills and experience required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
Current ACT Professional Engineering Registration or ability to obtain
Demonstrated expertise in electricity network asset management principles and frameworks
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
High-level communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Experience in engineering analysis, risk assessment, financial modelling, and economic evaluation
Understanding of regulatory frameworks and contribution to regulatory submissions
Desirable: familiarity with RCM principles and ISO*****/ISO***** standards
Ability to translate complex data and reports into actionable insights for stakeholders and executives
