About the role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with 2 - 6 years post-admission experience to join our Melbourne Corporate & Commercial team, working alongside partners and senior lawyers in a well-established team.
Our Melbourne team has over 30 staff members including 9 partners.
The role also offers opportunities to collaborate with our teams in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, and Perth.
This is a hands-on corporate & commercial role with significant learning and development opportunities, working with a diverse range of local and international clients, including companies, business owners, private investors, and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for :
Drafting and negotiating transaction documents
Handling various matters related to corporate / M&A transactions, including due diligence, legal analysis, and regulatory issues
Liaising with clients and advisers across different specialties within our firm
Completing transactions efficiently
Participating in other commercial transactions such as capital raisings, joint ventures, and equity structures
Managing other commercial contracts as needed
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience :
2 - 6 years post-admission experience in corporate & commercial law
Experience in M&A transactions
Strong analytical, drafting, and attention to detail skills
Effective organization and prioritization abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong commercial acumen
Technical excellence and motivation
