As a Rates Administration Officer, you will maintain the rates name and address register and Centrelink pensioner database ensuring payments are allocated correctly and changes to customer details are current. You will also be required to assist the Rates team to ensure quality service is provided to our customers and produce certificates under s603 of the Local Government Act 1993.
Located within the Finance Group, the Rates team are a small and dedicated team who manage complex and confidential rates information to ensure payment from our residents and businesses are allocated correctly.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or experience in the Accounting/Finance field
- Exceptional customer service skills and high level interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
- Excellent data entry skills
- Demonstrated ability to use word processing and spreadsheeting software
**Desirable**:
- Local Government experience
- Local Government rating experience
- Experience in the use of Technology One software
