We are on the hunt for a highly self-motivated and curious Quality Assurance Team Leader to join our Ravenhall team.
You will support the Quality Manager and lead a team of x4 QA/QC officers.
A normal day in the role of the Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer includes:
* Overlook and co-ordinate with other QA/QC Officers any laboratory tests that need to be undertaken to determine chemical, physical, and microbiological characteristics of food ingredients and manufactured products
* Provide guidance and training to the QA/QC Officers and Manufacturing/Warehouse Staff as required on Quality and Food Safety requirements
* Coordinate day-to-day Quality Assurance and control processes
* Compile and evaluate data on quality parameters
* Aid in developing and maintaining quality and food safety systems
* Participate in on site regulatory and customer compliance audits
* Making decisions and troubleshooting, conforming to specifications and understanding the characteristics of the final product and customer expectations
* Provide assistance in the absence of QA Officers with their key responsibilities
* Assist in any planned production and development trials including the processing of job cards and amendments as required
* Monitor the day-to-day hygiene, quality and GMP of the manufacturing plant, including monitoring personnel practices and any Customer specific requirements
* Carry out periodic internal audits of processes and systems on the manufacturing sites
* Maintain effective working relationships with warehousing, logistics, operators, technical, NPD and plant management
* Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables data and informing QA Manager regularly about status of laboratory requirements
* Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as physical, chemical, and microbiological characteristics
* Manage environmental testing such as allergen and hygiene monitoring, ensuring CCP validations and customer requirements are met
* Investigate any customer complaints and conduct a root cause analysis
* Participate in Continuous Improvement projects with Production Manager

To be in the running for this role, you should have:
* A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Food Science/Technology or Science
* Food industry and coursework/practical laboratory experience
* Practical experience working to BRC/WQA/Coles/Aldi/Regulatory/AIB/Biosecurity and HACCP standards
* Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment with good working knowledge in food safety and/or quality
* Demonstrated experience in a hands-on leadership position
* Knowledge in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation and production processes
* The ability to problem solve quality issues and provide suggestions for improvements, deep dive and conduct root cause analysis as needed
* Initiative! You are autonomous and a self-starter!
* Solid proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* An open, curious and optimistic outlook; you're a problem solver
