Benefits
Post training, salary range for Shift Work is $86,013 - $94,751 pa + super. Annual salary increase within this range in accordance with the Correctional Officers Agreement ****. During training (13 weeks), salary is $64,583 pa + 12% super.
In addition to salary + super, Correctional Officers attract:

Correctional Officers work 76.0 hours per fortnight on a fully rotational roster. This includes day and night shifts, public holidays and weekends. During training, start and finish times will vary in accordance with training requirements but can expect to be day shifts Monday to Friday.

About the Role
The Tasmania Prison Service is seeking applications from highly motivated people who are looking for a challenging career in the correctional field with a dynamic, diverse and progressive organisation.
Successful applicants will complete a 12-week training program at the Risdon site to develop the skills and abilities required to become professional and effective Correctional Officers. The training provides the opportunity to acquire a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial), a nationally recognised qualification.
During the recruitment process applicants will be assessed for suitability to perform the duties of a Correctional Officer, which includes psychological and workforce health/fitness assessments as well as criminal history background checks. Applicants need only submit a current resume and complete the required application form. Response to the selection criteria is NOT required.
