Overview
Got the drive to turn your HR foundations into a seriously rewarding People & Culture career — one that's about impact, not just paperwork?
St Bart's is seeking a proactive, detail-driven People & Culture Coordinator to join our team — initially, working directly with and reporting to our Chief People & Culture Officer, who has 20+ years' experience.
This is a hands-on role in the engine room of supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, HRIS, reporting and payroll support — helping deliver people strategies that genuinely make a difference in a community where everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home.
Our workplace is a little different, too. We're co-located alongside our transitional housing, social housing and aged care services, meaning you'll see the real impact of our work every day. It's not your typical quiet corporate office — it's dynamic, human and deeply connected to the community we support.
You won't just be filling a role — you'll be developed in it, based on how big your learning appetite is! The successful incumbent will be supported and mentored with a view to growing into a higher-level People & Culture role within 2–3 years.
Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on support for recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, HRIS, reporting and payroll activities.
* Assist in delivering people strategies that benefit the community and organization.
* Collaborate with the Chief People & Culture Officer and the broader team to implement HR initiatives.
Qualifications
* At least 12 months of experience in HR administration, with experience using HRIS and drafting employment contracts and letters.
* Cert IV in Human Resources (minimum) or a similar qualification.
* Australian working rights.
* Ability to produce polished, professional documentation with strong attention to detail.
* Experience using LinkedIn and social media for employment branding is desirable.
What's in it for you?
* Pay: Competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging, with potential tax benefits.
* Leave: 23 days annual leave (pro rata).
* Perks: Social activities, opportunities to join a consultation committee, and visible mission impact.
* Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday; part-time considered for the right candidate. Primarily office-based with in-person collaboration, with flexibility as needed.
* Career development: Training, accessible leaders, growth and advancement opportunities.
* Culture: Exceptional workplace culture with a balance of hard work and fun.
