This is a full-time hybrid lawyer role with opportunities to work from home and at different locations across the state.
Under supervision, you will provide legal advice and representation statewide, focusing on workers' compensation. Your role also involves leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior lawyers/case officers and contributing to our strategic goals.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
 1. Provide high-quality legal advice and casework in employment and workers' compensation matters through a trauma-informed lens;
 2. Work closely with clients facing multiple barriers and disadvantage markers;
 3. Develop and implement policy and projects;
 4. Contribute to advancing debate, policy and legislative reform concerning women and the law.
Key Qualifications
Essential:
 1. At least three (3) years post-admission experience as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the Federal Court of Australia;
 2. An understanding of and a commitment to social justice and equality principles;
 3. Sound knowledge and experience in providing high-quality legal advice and casework in employment and workers' compensation matters;
 4. Experience working with clients facing multiple barriers and disadvantage markers;
 5. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and people management skills.
Desirable:
 1. Hold a current unrestricted driver's licence;
 2. Experience with community legal centres or not-for-profit legal practice environments;
 3. Experience with public speaking, legal education, or law reform campaigns.
