About the role
We are seeking a Ministry Assistant who will provide support to the our Ministers (Corps Officers) in the development of outreach opportunities in Port Augusta and Whyalla, identifying and ensuring the needs of both Church and local communities are met.
In this role you will be someone that will live out your own personal faith and convictions, work closely with your local Ministry leadership to build and maintain sustainable faith pathways with a focus on, but not exclusively to, children and families.
If the successful candidate requires access to rental accommodation, it may be provided by The Salvation Army. As the successful candidate you may also be eligible for the Remote Area Housing Benefit to employees who live and work in the area (up to $15,800 tax free)
You will successfully
* Work with the Corps Officers to establish, develop and coordinate Corps programs in Port Augusta and Whyalla
* Work collaboratively with local community groups, TSA mission expressions, site users and other relevant stakeholders
* Support the Corps Officers in preparation for Sunday worship
* Complete administrative tasks as requested by Corps Officers
* Engage in community activities and fundraising opportunities including, but not limited to, the Red Shield Appeal and Christmas events
You will have
* The willingness to become an active member of The Salvation Army (if not already)
* The ability to abide by The Salvation Army policies and procedures and Code of Conduct
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to obtain National Police clearance
* South Australian WWCC
This is a permanent full-time role based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, SA.
