Overview
The Administration Officer – Primary Health Care is a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, supporting patient flow and administrative processes to ensure efficient and accurate medical reception and service delivery.
Responsibilities
* Actively contribute to the implementation of the Model of Care with particular emphasis on leading and supporting the function of the medical reception.
* Ensure efficient patient flow through effective use of the clinic calendars. Display exceptional phone manner when taking calls or messages.
* Ensure appropriate handling of GP referrals.
* Contribute towards ensuring the recall function is in accordance with ATSICHS Policies and Procedures.
* Ensure the handling of patient correspondence is in accordance with ATSICHS Privacy Policy and Procedures.
* Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of the service provision.
* Contribute towards ensuring the Medical Service Billing function is in accordance with ATSICHS Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
* Willingness to learn.
* Availability across Monday - Saturday.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture and ways of doing business.
* Previous experience in administration and/or service coordination (preferred).
* Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (preferred).
* Experience with an electronic Patient Management System (e.g., MMEx) (preferred).
* Knowledge of the Australian Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS), the Medicare system and Practice Incentive Programs (PIP) (preferred).
* Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) (preferred).
* Strong organisation, multi-tasking, planning, prioritisation and independent working skills.
* Interpersonal and problem-solving communication skills with a focus on client outcomes.
