We are seeking applications for a Peer Support Worker to join our new Mental Health service in Wagga Wagga, on a permanent full-time basis.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide invaluable empathetic support, guidance, and encouragement to veterans and first responders engaging with our services, drawing on your own journey of healing and resilience.
You'll join a dedicated, collaborative team in a purpose-built community setting, working within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed model of care.
The Position
* Participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities aimed at increasing the individual's skills, knowledge and improving access to required services in the community.
* Provide the highest level of support for individuals supported and ensure each person supported is treated with respect that enhances their personal worth, dignity and rights, always.
* Assist in achieving individual's, team and service goals and objectives.
* Seek ways of improving the service standards through working closely with clinical caregivers, managers and stakeholders.
* Maintain a high level of service provision for all individuals and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people is supported and staff are maintained.
The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently or as part of a team, bringing strong initiative and resilience to manage competing demands and work under pressure. You will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively in situations of conflict, and maintain professional, succinct file notes and records.
Successful applicants must be willing to complete a Certificate 4 Mental Health Peer Work within first 24 months of tenure, hold a valid Working With Children check and National Police Clearance.

We can offer you
* Salary: $69,084 to $70,531 plus 12% Superannuation
* Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
