The Team

The Manager – Educational Transformation role sits within Ambulance Tasmania, part of the Department of Health Tasmania. The team leads education, training and clinical workforce development in a contemporary, agile health environment. It comprises education and clinical support staff who work together to enhance professional practice, uplift clinical capability and support ongoing career development for ambulance personnel. The team operates within a statewide emergency health service setting, collaborating to deliver modern, high‑quality training programs aligned with sector needs and organisational priorities.


The Role

The Manager – Educational Transformation is responsible for leading education and clinical support teams within Ambulance Tasmania, ensuring that training, professional development and clinical capability programs are contemporary, effective and aligned with organisational needs. The role drives ongoing professional and career development initiatives, fosters a culture of continuous learning, and supports the delivery of high‑quality emergency health services by uplifting the skills and readiness of ambulance personnel.


You will need to:

* Provide specialist advice and management support as the manager of multiple educational initiatives, including development of business objectives, clinical strategies, effective allocation and utilisation of resources and performance reporting.
* Provide leadership, direction, performance management and support to managers and staff in relation to projects and educational programmes.
* Develop project documentation and reports as requested, including scoping of the project and associated outcomes, development and management of risk, change processes and quality registers for both the patient and the organisation.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, full‑time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 23 December 2026. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time, and casual vacancies.


Salary

$150,796 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022.


Salary Packaging

You'll have access to a salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year plus other benefits if eligible.


Allowances

* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
* Remote and Rural allowance of 8% of base salary for Miena, Queenstown, Strahan or Zeehan.
* Remote and Rural allowance of 4% of base salary for Beaconsfield, Bicheno, Bridport, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, George Town, Nubeena, Oatlands, Ouse, Scamander, Scottsdale, Smithton, Swansea, St Helens or Triabunna.

* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility

* Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience and an additional qualification in management or equivalent.
* Registered with the Paramedicine Board of.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment; it is the employee's responsibility to ensure these remain current and to advise the Employer if circumstances change.

* Postgraduate educational experience and/or qualifications relevant to the role.
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in project management or significant progress towards completion of a project management qualification.
* Appropriate postgraduate qualifications in Education.
