Sales Representative (Septic/ ATU Systems
– Residential, Commercial & After-Sales)
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission
About the Role
We are seeking a confident, relationship-driven Sales Representative to help drive significant growth in our Septic/ ATU (Aerobic Treatment Unit) installation business across both residential and commercial markets. This hybrid role combines office-based sales, field-based business development, and ongoing post-sales customer relationship management.
You'll be supported by an Admin Support team who prepares and issues initial quotes. Your job is to convert those quotes into booked installations, build strong commercial partnerships, and maintain long-term customer relationships that generate servicing revenue and ongoing referrals.
This role is critical to our goal of expanding our Septic/ATU installations and increasing our footprint across Perth and surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Office-Based Sales & Quote Follow-Up
* Follow up all ATU quotes issued by the Admin Support team
* Convert residential and commercial enquiries into confirmed installation bookings
* Manage leads through phone, email, SMS, and CRM workflows
* Maintain regular contact with customers throughout the buying process
* Provide clear, accurate information about Septic/ATU systems, installation steps, pricing, and council requirements
* Ensure all CRM notes are accurate, timely, and up to date
2. Field-Based Sales & Business Development
* Visit builders, civil contractors, plumbers, developers, and commercial clients
* Build long-term partnerships with businesses requiring ongoing ATU installations
* Present our systems and capabilities professionally on-site or in meetings
* Identify upcoming developments and commercial opportunities early to position us as the preferred supplier
* Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
3. Post-Sales Follow-Up & Customer Retention
* Contact customers after installation to ensure satisfaction and answer any questions
* Support customers during handover to the servicing team
* Promote and secure long-term service contracts
* Maintain friendly, periodic contact to keep relationships strong
* Encourage and track customer referrals, testimonials, and word-of-mouth leads
* Address minor post-install queries before they escalate
* Act as a long-term point of contact for customers who may require future upgrades, servicing, or system expansions
4. Product Knowledge & Technical Understanding
* Develop strong working knowledge of ATU systems and how they differ from traditional septic systems
* Understand installation requirements, council processes, and service/maintenance obligations
* Stay updated on product variations, competitive systems, and industry changes
* Be able to explain system features and benefits clearly to non-technical customers
5. Reporting & Internal Collaboration
* Provide weekly sales updates, forecasts, and pipeline progress
* Work closely with operations, scheduling, and admin teams for smooth delivery
* Track commercial partnerships, recurring business, and referral activity
* Provide feedback on customer objections, market conditions, and pricing sensitivity
Skills & Attributes
* Confident communicator — strong on the phone and in person
* Comfortable speaking with builders, trades, homeowners, and commercial managers
* Persistent but polite; able to follow up consistently without being pushy
* Highly organised with excellent time management
* Able to manage a mixed pipeline (residential, commercial, and referral)
* Self-motivated, goal-driven, and competitive
* Quick learner with the ability to understand moderately technical products
* Professional and well-presented
Experience
* Sales, business development, or customer-facing experience preferred
* Experience in construction, plumbing, civil, wastewater, or related fields is a bonus
* Experience selling into builder or trade networks is highly valued
* Valid driver's licence required
