Sensys Gatso Australia is seeking an experienced and skilled Mobile Roadside Operator to join our team in Western Junction, Tasmania on a 12-month contract basis. In this role, you will work without direct supervision and collect an SUV-type vehicle, or an SUV with trailer, at the commencement of a shift from our northern office and travelling to designated locations, setting up and conducting an enforcement session with either the vehicle or trailer, and then moving to a new location to run a vehicle enforcement session and/or collecting trailers before the shift ends.
Communication during the shift will be with a Team Leader or Supervisor who will assist with any operational or technical issues.
What you'll be doing
* Settting up and operating all camera equipment in accordance with Tasmanian Government legislation, regulations and guidelines as well as SGA policies and procedures
* Deploy various speed and driver enforcement technologies such as mobile speed, Automatic Number Plate detection or mobile phone and seat belt detection systems.
* Continuously monitor the status of the vehicle or trailer camera equipment to ensure correct operation
* Tow a trailer with a camera system using an SUV vehicle and set up on location
* Raise and lower the extendable mast on the camera system trailer to operate additional traffic enforcement functions
* Operating computer software and systems within the vehicles and trailers.

* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Demonstrated ability to interact with members of the public in a calm way, to resolve potentially tense situations
* Manual dexterity and being comfortable to tow and set up a trailer, using an SUV-type vehicle
* Flexibility to work a roster including early mornings, nights and public holidays
* Flexibility to pick up spare shifts at short notice, and if requested, to travel to other regions of the State and stay for up to 4 days to conduct enforcement sessions
* Being comfortable to work alone in rural and/or remote locations and able to remain seated for extended periods of time in a vehicle
* You believe in the value of road safety programs
* Very good IT skills, including typing and using multiple screens.
* A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
* Agreement to complete a National Police Check and a pre-employment Medical Assessment is required.
