The role of Team Leader - Biosecurity and Invasive Species involves managing key projects and initiatives that help protect the region's ecosystems and support sustainable land use.
You will lead and support a team of staff and contractors, fostering their growth through mentorship and development opportunities.
Responsibilities include coordinating biosecurity and invasive species programs, inspecting and controlling priority weeds, managing fieldwork schedules, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
You will also develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective practices across the team.
In addition, you will prepare grant applications, oversee procurement processes, and manage budgets to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to guide, motivate, and inspire your team to achieve great results.
* Hands-on experience in biosecurity or invasive species management, project coordination, compliance activities, and stakeholder engagement.
* Experience in grant funding, procurement, and budget management.
