Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Commercial Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
* Assisting with monthly management reporting and educating end users of the accounting system on relevant processes.
* Managing the asset register and reconciling it on a quarterly basis.
* Providing cost‐reporting analysis to managers and supervisors with transparency of costs.
* Facilitating cost‐review meetings with department managers and supervisors.
* Administering and controlling project/CAPEX applications in line with policy and the accounting system.
* Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and notes to the joint venture stage where appropriate.
* Ensuring trial balance reconciliations are completed.
* Applying data‐science techniques to forecast production costs and identify operational risks.
Skills and Experience
Essential criteria:
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field (or working towards).
* Previous experience in commercial accounting roles.
* Management accounting experience in the resource sector (desirable).
* Experience with SAP accounting system (desirable).
* Proficiency using Microsoft Suite of products and accounting software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and time‐management skills.
* Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics techniques.
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
