Accounts Officer - Construction IndustryAre you an experienced Accounts Officer from the construction industry, with a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail? Our client is a renowned, forward-thinking property developer seeking a dedicated professional to join their dynamic team. If you thrive in the construction industry and are ready to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you!What We're Looking For:Experience: Minimum 10 years in an accounts officer role within the construction sector.Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (ProCore, ProScan, MYOB or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Well-versed in financial principles and regulations.Availability: 100% Office-based contact.Key Competencies:Accounting Software: MYOB proficiency, data entry, payroll processing (STP), BAS, PAYG, TPAR, EOFY reconciliations.Payroll & Timesheets: Managing staff timesheets, processing payroll for 25+ employees, handling superannuation, payroll tax, and statutory obligations.Financial Reporting: Preparing P&L statements, balance sheets, monthly management reports; experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost center management.Accounts Payable & Receivable: Processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing credit card expenses, collections.Tax Compliance: BAS, IAS, and other ATO filings, superannuation, payroll tax lodgments.Inventory & Asset Management: Maintaining asset registers, stocktakes, auditing variances, overseeing equipment and fleet.Intercompany & Cash Flow Management: Reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, retention reconciliation.Operational Skills:System and Procedure Setup: Establishing accounting procedures, system integrations, invoice financing (NAB, Procore).Administrative Support: Assisting senior management, preparing meetings, handling correspondence, maintaining office administration.Compliance: WHS protocols for Queensland, office safety, equipment tagging, first aid.Vendor & Supplier Relations: Establishing relationships, negotiating pricing, managing contracts.Additional Responsibilities:Project Management Support: Entering quotes, tracking project costs, managing construction documentation.Financial Strategy: Reviewing loan terms, planning asset acquisitions, tracking debt.Team Leadership & Support: Assisting other staff and project teams.Technology Management: Proficiency in MS Office, construction software, MYOB; troubleshooting skills.Reporting & Reconciliation: Daily bank reconciliations, ensuring compliance in reports.Special Requirements:Policy Adherence: Following company policies on credit cards, expenses, and training (Deputy, Procore).Inventory Management: Managing tool registers, vehicle and equipment insurance, coordinating deliveries.Budgeting & Cost Control: GST forecasting, organizing quotes, optimizing supplier savings.Based 25 km south of Brisbane, this expanding construction company has secured over $15M in contracts this year.
