**The Opportunity**
This is a newly created position in a recently formed Department. As an experienced EL1, you will support the design and delivery of data-driven and evidence-based communications. Supported by a friendly and high performing branch, you will support to success of policy outcomes in the environmental sector.
This position can be undertaken via a non-ongoing arrangement, or via an S26 transfer if you are a current permanent APS staff member.
**Key duties will include**:
- Pulling quantitative and qualitative data from surveys, systems including Streem, Falcon and Google Analytics and stakeholder workshops and other events.
- Interpreting and writing plainly about the data to produce insights that can inform and iteratively improve communication tactics and products.
- Develop and test personas and iteratively update these with new data insights
- Report regularly on key metrics and emerging trends
- Monitor conversations and trends in the communication landscape.
- Collaborate and consult with other communications branch teams to consider data linkages and insights against the department's strategic objectives.

**Skills and Experience required**:
To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated strong data analysis and interpretation skills, along with proven experience to interpret data and explain it for a lay audience.
Demonstrated experience using Google Analytics and/or other digital analytics software is essential. Highly desirable is to have prior experience and knowledge of Streem and/or Falcon or other similar communication programs.
