About the role
Reporting to the Technology Business Lead, this role puts you at the forefront of shaping and evolving SAP S/4HANA solutions across all Honda divisions. You'll lead the technical design, development, and ongoing optimisation of business‐critical systems, combining deep hands‐on expertise in ABAP, CDS Views, and S/4HANA extensibility with a strong grasp of key functional areas including VMS (Vehicle Management System), Sales & Distribution, and Warehouse Operations. This blend enables you to diagnose complex issues, design smart, scalable solutions, and deliver outcomes that truly support end‐to‐end business performance.
As a trusted technical authority, you'll act as the vital link between business stakeholders, ICT, and SAP MSPs driving alignment, quality, and innovation. You'll ensure every solution meets high standards for performance, sustainability, and clean‐core principles, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve and modernise the SAP landscape.
How you'll make an impact
* Develop and optimise SAP solutions in S/4HANA using ABAP and CDS views, supporting reporting, integrations, and Fiori.
* Provide Level 1 / Level 2 technical support for SAP incidents and service requests.
* Assess and enhance system changes while promoting clean‐core extensibility, performance, and compliance.
* Apply functional expertise across sales distribution, and warehouse operations to support end‐to‐end business processes.
* Translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure alignment with overall process outcomes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues through root cause analysis, supporting defect fixes, testing, and SIT/UAT activities.
* Ensure MSP developments comply with Honda standards, SAP best practices, and S/4HANA clean‐core principles.
* Maintain and update technical design documents, functional specifications, CDS view catalogues, custom object documentation etc.
* Support change governance processes including CAB inputs, impact assessments, and deployment readiness.
What you'll bring to Honda
* Tertiary Qualifications in Business and Information Systems.
* Demonstrated hands‐on experience with SAP ABAP development in an S/4HANA environment.
* Strong experience designing and implementing CDS Views.
* Solid functional knowledge of SAP Sales & Distribution (SD), Warehouse Operations / Logistics Execution and VELO (functional application knowledge as used within the business).
* Experience supporting SAP in a production enterprise environment.
* Ability to perform both technical and functional analysis of business issues.
* Experience working with or overseeing SAP Managed Service Providers.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving capability.
* Ability to operate confidently across technical and business domains, and skilled to explain technical concepts to non‐technical audiences.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
