We're looking for experienced Fitters (Mechanical, Diesel, Fitter & Turner) to join our team at the Mackay Component Rebuild Facility. This permanent, full-time role offers a Monday to Friday roster and the chance to work with world-class Caterpillar machinery.
What you'll be doing
As a valued Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:
* Rebuild, repair and maintain Caterpillar componentry to the highest standard.
* Complete repairs and overhauls safely, efficiently, and on time.
* Carry out detailed inspections on all disassembled parts for reusability.
* Accurately complete reports and paperwork for each rebuild or repair.
* Maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times.
* Work to daily overhaul schedules and production requirements.
* Always promote and follow safe work practices.

About you
We're seeking dedicated tradespeople who bring:
* Trade Qualification - Cert III Engineering (Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners, Diesel Fitters, or Mechanical trades).
* Post-trade mechanical fitting experience.
* Component rebuild experience (desirable but not essential).
* Computer literacy - SIS experience highly regarded.
* Strong commitment to safety.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Solid planning and organisational skills.
* Availability for rotating day and afternoon shifts.
