The organisation

Women's Health and Equality Queensland are leaders in women's health, gender equity and the primary prevention of violence in Queensland. The opportunity

Reporting to the COO, the Media and Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's critical voice in the human services sector.

* Develop and lead the strategic communications, media engagement and brand promotion strategies;
* Develop and implement impactful brand promotions aligned with the organisation's objectives and values;
* Collaborate with other stakeholders to support diversification of revenue streams;
* Drive digital campaigns to increase awareness of the organisation as the formidable voice for women's health and other cohorts experiencing inequality.
About you

You are a proactive senior communications professional who thrives on working autonomously supporting the mission and purpose of the organisation.

* Proven strategic communications experience including media and brand promotion expertise;
* Demonstrable experience building brand campaigns using contemporary fora including digital channels;
* Superior written and oral communication ability to support all aspects of communications, including proactive media engagement and speech writing;
* Demonstrable ability to develop and deliver internal and external events;
* Strong digital content creation ability;
* Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload;
* Excellent capability to identify opportunities in the political and human services sector to drive brand awareness and support philanthropic and corporate sponsorship opportunities;
* Alignment with, or strong interest in, women's health, gender equity and social justice.
