The role You’ll take ownership of daily workshop operations, leading a team of boilermakers, welders, and trades assistants in a high-output fabrication environment.
This role is all about people, production, and process — keeping jobs moving, maintaining quality, and ensuring a safe and efficient workshop.
Key responsibilities
* Supervise and support workshop trades (boilermakers, welders, TAs)
* Allocate work and manage workflow across the shop
* Ensure fabrication meets drawings, specs, and quality standards
* Monitor production schedules and hit deadlines
* Drive strong WHS practices and compliance
* Liaise with production and management teams
* Identify and implement process improvements
About you
* Trade qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator
* Strong background in heavy steel or structural fabrication
* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Natural leader or senior tradesperson ready to step up
* Organised, safety-focused, and hands-on with your team
