About the role
Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Health Information Services Officer to join our team. Part‐time and full‐time opportunities are available. The officer will work flexible hours Monday to Friday (no weekends or nights) with shift times between 7 AM–3 PM or 9 AM–5 PM. Reporting to the Health Information Services Manager, the officer is responsible for the day‐to‐day functionality of the department.

Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state‐of‐the‐art 339‐bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport. With 22 operating theatres, the hospital offers a wide range of specialties including 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Responsibilities
* Compile medical records of discharged patients, ensuring all forms are in the correct order
* Retrieve medical records from off‐site storage and collect them from wards
* Sort and file medical records in the main file in terminal digit filing order
* Cull medical records to be moved to our off‐site storage facility
* Manage incoming telephone calls
* Sort and file incoming correspondence, reports and results
* Provide health information to internal and external clients according to Healthscope's Release of Information policy
Selection Criteria
* Well‐developed oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast‐paced environment
* Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Experience in a healthcare setting or record‐keeping environment
* Previous experience in Health Information Services
* Experience with WebPAS Patient Administration System
* Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality principles
* Knowledge of medical terminology
