Overview
Laboratory Technical Assistant (Ballistics) – Mulwala site. Full-time on-site role with responsibilities for performing routine and non-routine analysis on raw materials and finished products to authorised procedures, while assuring the quality of the work performed.
Responsibilities
* Work at a level of Technical Assistant (Level 9).
* Perform chemical and instrumental analyses using standard procedures to deliver accurate results.
* Implement Quality Control techniques.
* Responsible for safe working practices within the work area.
* Calibrate, maintain, and manage laboratory equipment and facilities to meet NATA standards.
* Develop and draft clear operating instructions and methods for laboratory procedures.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum year 12 in Chemistry or equivalent highly desirable.
* Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and E-mail.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
Security, Eligibility and Compliance
A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
