The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Organising Committee is seeking a highly motivated and organised Event Operations Specialist to lead the planning, recruitment, training, and management of the event's volunteer workforce. The successful candidate will commence as soon as possible in a full-time position until December 2025 at the conclusion of post-event reporting and surveying of the volunteer workforce.
With a daily requirement of over 300 volunteers, this role is critical in ensuring a seamless volunteer experience and a well-supported event. The Event Operations Specialist will report directly to the General Manager – Sport & Event Delivery and work closely with other event stakeholders to deliver a memorable and professionally executed World Championships.
Successful applicants will be required to adhere to policies and procedures including compliance and verification of working with children checks.
Responsibilities:
* Recruit and manage a large team of volunteers for the event,
* Develop and implement training programs to equip volunteers with the necessary skills to succeed in their roles,
* Maintain high volunteer engagement and retention by implementing strategies to encourage volunteers to return for multiple shifts or days,
* Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and sponsors to match volunteer activity to event needs,
* Maintain detailed databases of volunteer information, tracking attendance, performance, and feedback.

* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal,
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure,
* Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, especially in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

Work Conditions:
