The Continence Clinical Nurse Consultant is a highly valued member, working closely across community health and acute services. Regular in-services and case discussions foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
Narrabri District Hospital features:
* 28-bed inpatient unit (medical, surgical, maternity, paediatrics, palliative care)
* 8-bed day surgery unit
* Diagnostic services including pathology, X-ray, CT, and visiting ultrasound
* 24-hour Emergency Department
Are you an experienced and passionate nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in rural healthcare? Narrabri Community Health Service is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 (Continence) to join our dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to work across a diverse range of clinical settings, including:
* Acute inpatient services
* Outpatient clinics
* Community and outreach programs
As a Continence Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide specialist clinical expertise in continence management across the lifespan. You will play a key role in supporting patients, families, and clinicians by delivering evidence-based care, education, and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expert continence assessment, management, and education to patients and families
* Provide clinical consultation and support to multidisciplinary teams
* Enhance the capability of clinicians through education and mentorship
* Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
* Work collaboratively across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings
About You
You are a motivated and innovative clinician who:
* Has a passion for rural and community healthcare
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Builds strong relationships with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
* Is proactive in improving service delivery and patient outcomes
Brings specialist knowledge (or a strong interest) in continence management.
Essential Criteria
* Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with AHPRA with at least 5 years full-time equivalent experience
* Post-registration nursing qualifications or willing to work towards becoming a Clinical Nurse Consultant
