A leading renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced and proactive Contracts Manager to support the delivery of large‐scale solar and battery energy storage projects. This newly created role will work closely with both the Major Projects and Execution teams to ensure robust commercial outcomes across the contracting lifecycle—from early works through construction, commissioning, and commercial operations.
The successful candidate will apply strong commercial acumen, contractual leadership, and risk‐management skills to maximise project value and support organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Delivery & Administration
* Support the Execution team through the full lifecycle of major contracts—from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operations and contract close‐out.
* Manage contractual rights, obligations, performance requirements, notices, and claims across major contractor and subcontractor arrangements.
* Lead the resolution of complex disputes and develop dispute‐management strategies.
Commercial Contracting & Negotiation
* Support negotiation of construction and equipment supply contracts, including EPC agreements, battery storage supply contracts, O&M and long‐term service agreements, and grid‐connection agreements with network service providers.
* Contribute to the development of negotiation strategies and plans aligned with project objectives.
Financial & Governance Support
* Help establish pre‐construction capex estimates and financial controls, including participation in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phases.
* Assist with the development and implementation of corporate governance systems for contract approval and award.
Systems, Templates & Processes
* Develop and implement standardised contract templates, administration plans, procedures, and reporting systems.
* Support contract start‐up and close‐out activities, ensuring consistency with corporate practices.
Cross‐Functional Collaboration
* Work with project management, engineering, legal, risk, safety, and design teams to ensure alignment on contract delivery, risk mitigation, and commercial positioning.
* Provide high‐quality commercial advice on contract interpretation, delivery models, and risk allocation.
* Manage all contractual risks, including variations, extensions of time, delay and disruption claims, liquidated damages, provisional sums, and scope adjustments.
* Ensure commercial decisions protect and maximise value for the organisation.

* Strong commercial leadership and the ability to apply rigorous contractual and commercial principles in a project‐delivery environment.
* Deep understanding of EPC contract structures, delivery models, and commercial frameworks commonly used in large‐scale renewable energy projects.
* Experience interpreting complex contract terms and forming strategic recommendations.
* Proven ability to manage major project correspondence, notices, claims, and dispute processes.
* Experience developing contract templates, processes, and governance systems.
* Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse internal teams (engineering, legal, project management, finance, network/grid, safety, etc.).
* Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain commercial focus under pressure.
