THE ROLE:
Water Treatment Services Pty Ltd is a well-established and growing provider of commercial and industrial water treatment solutions across North Queensland. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Technical Cadet to join our Townsville team on a part-time basis, ideal for a university student or recent graduate looking to build a career in the water industry.
This is a hands-on, entry-level technical role supporting our experienced Water Treatment Technicians. You will gain practical experience across a wide range of water treatment systems while developing your technical and problem-solving skills.
Reporting to the Quality & Technical Products Manager, key duties and responsibilities include:
* Assist with routine servicing of water treatment systems including cooling towers, boilers, and closed loop systems
* Conduct water sampling and basic on-site testing
* Support chemical dosing and system monitoring
* Maintain accurate service records and reports
* Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
* Adhere to safety procedures and company policies at all times
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will be willing to learn and grow in an expanding company, taking on new challenges. You will also:
* Currently studying or recently graduated in Engineering, Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field
* Ability to work independently with strong practical problem-solving skills, particularly in respect to laboratory work, process optimisation and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
* High-level competency in data analysis and preparation of technical reports
* A valid Australian Driver's Licence
* A valid Construction Induction White Card; desirable
