About the Candidate
TasRail is seeking an energetic and motivated individual for the role of Operations Coordinator – West, providing vital support to the Operations team in the busy North West region.
You will be organised, proactive, and confident managing a mix of operational and administrative tasks. With a strong focus on safety and compliance, you'll support managers and supervisors to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
You'll be a clear communicator who works well with frontline staff, contractors and other TasRail teams. With a problem-solving mindset and the flexibility to step in where needed, you'll thrive on variety and take pride in contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of rail services across the West.
Flexibility in your availability will be important, as hours may vary from time to time to meet operational needs.
About the Role
As Operations Coordinator – West, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Branch Manager and Operations Supervisor to deliver safe, efficient and reliable train and terminal services across Tasmania's North West. This hands-on role will see you managing day-to-day operational and administrative tasks, working closely with frontline staff and contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Coordinating day-to-day operational activities to support the West operations team.
* Assisting with safety procedures in line with Rail Safety National Law and regulations.
* Liaising with staff, contractors and other TasRail teams to meet operational needs.
* Administering depot operations tasks, including safety requirements and general housekeeping.
* Providing leave coverage for supervisory roles and participating in after-hours on-call rosters as required.
