Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.
Working with us
- Base salary ranges between $98,555 and $116,189 p.a. (HWF4).
- For 1 year you will receive an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will receive AUD$10,500, and for the 3rd year (and every year after that) you will receive AUD$7,000.
- Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (including spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
- Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.

About The Role
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner (A&TSIHP;) will play a key role in supporting child health and parenting within the Maternal Child Youth Health team. The role focuses on delivering culturally appropriate, family-centred care across First Nations communities, enhancing the health and wellbeing of children and families from conception through the First 2000 days. This role is part of the Keeping First Nations Mums and Bubs on Country initiative, aimed at supporting families to stay on country and thrive, with a focus on child development and parenting support.
Requirements
- It is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
