As a Rural Generalist Podiatrist, you will contribute to delivering comprehensive and integrated health services. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including health professionals from various sectors. Your approaches will include preventative care, early intervention, treatment, therapy, and evaluation, utilizing individual therapy, group programs, health promotion, and community development projects. A proactive approach to maintaining contemporary knowledge and skills in podiatry and rural healthcare is essential. The role may require providing regional services to multiple communities within the region on a regular, rostered schedule.
You must hold a recognized qualification in Podiatry and be eligible for practicing membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Podiatry Board. Skills in providing straightforward clinical podiatry services, including individual, group, and health promotion activities, are necessary. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to support patients through assessment, referrals, information provision, coordinated care, and follow-up.
