PINION - Tinder for Politics meets WIkipedia for Public Opinion
About Pinion ):
We have been working on something big and transformative for politics and civic engagement. We are preparing to launch our go to market plans and seeking a broadly experienced legal professional, with both practical experience and genuine interest in our mission, to join our leadership team.
The Problem: Civic engagement is way too hard We want to fix that. And positively impact global democracy and the political-media landscape in the process.
The Mission: Transform civic engagement Create a platform where everyone can easily find, vote, and track results for pending legislation they care about, at local/state/national/global levels. And one that government customers rely on to improve their civic engagement performance
Our Vision: Make Pinion the global democracy platform that brings it all together so people everywhere can easily find, vote on, and track the same legislation their elected representatives are voting on, and then see results - so they can easily get engaged, feel their voice is heard and their vote counts. Enable our users and customers to see living results and enlightening analytics for their self, organization, city, county, state, and nation. See how their friends voted, their communities, legislatures, and of course their elected representatives – PLUS candidates hoping to replace them at the next election. Imagine voting for candidates who have voted with you based on your votes on topics/legislation you care about, rather than political spin. Pinion makes engaging with politics easy, engaging and enlightening for better democracy.
The Team: Pinion is a group of motivated professionals who believe in the power of public opinion to improve civic engagement, democracy, and make our world better. We are looking for a team player who is an independent, friendly, and self-motivated professional. Our team is small, currently 15-ish, but growing so we prefer someone who is comfortable in a "many hats" culture where we all are willing to work on whatever needs attention. We are all remote with weekly team meetings to keep up on track and then expect to work asynchronously.

• Manage progress across the Kanban board and the card content that defines the functionality we are designing.
• Ensure consistent content - use cases/user stories, marketing and technical requirements, Figma wireframes(links), and other context.

• Deliver documentation with prioritized features and corresponding justifications. Define the collaboration required between sales, promotional, and technical requirements - from idea to code.
• Work with our User and Customer Community Managers to run beta, pilot programs, and other product demonstrations for feedback and validation as the product progresses.

Compensation
PLEASE NOTE - We are a true early stage start up (pre-funding/pre-revenue). We are all working for equity PART TIME FOR NOW using the Slicing Pie methodology ) to fairly allocate equity in the company. This role is intended to grow into a full-time position in the future as we gain funding and revenues.
An ideal candidate should be self-sufficient with the available bandwidth to reliably contribute, be interested in our mission and technology, and comfortable with our early stage, "boot strapping" startup status. It may be bumpy ride, but it should be a fun one
Also, Angel List requires that this post be classified as a "Cofounder" in order to post on the site. While you will be part of our founding team, this is NOT a legal employment offer for a "cofounder role" - all of our team members are on contractor work agreements. Finally - this is a flexible fully remote position.
If all that sounds like a match please apply here as several key people on our team are part of considering your application.
