ROLE SUMMARY: A French Teacher at Reddam House is responsible for teaching French as a second language. This role involves contributing to curriculum development, promoting high teaching standards, and fostering a passion for language learning among students.You will ensure that the department aligns with the school's mission of academic excellence and holistic development, while also contributing to the broader educational goals of the school. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute to curriculum design, teaching strategies, and assessment practices, ensuring they meet the academic standards of Reddam House.Foster collaboration and a commitment to continuous improvement in language teaching.Teach French classes across various year levels, demonstrating exemplary teaching practices and setting a high standard for student engagement and achievement in language learning.Ensure that the French curriculum meets the requirements of the Australian Curriculum for French as a second language, promoting student-centred learning and language acquisition.Develop and implement initiatives to encourage students' interest in the French language and culture, promoting literacy and communication skills.Collaborate with other teachers and department heads to integrate cross-curricular approaches, contributing to the school's overall educational strategy.Organise and oversee French-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and immersion programs, to deepen students' engagement with the language.Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the broader school community regarding the French curriculum and student progress in language learning.Ensure the French Department complies with all school policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant educational legislation.May be required to assume the role of Year Coordinator and provide pastoral care for the relevant year group students from time to time, based on the needs of the school.
