The Role
Based in Canning Vale, the work will require candidates to work off "shop drawings" in order to cut mild steel and layout to the design with estimated 10% to 20% prep time. 80% to 90% of the work will be then be welding MIG-GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) with solid wire, where welders will need to set up the welding machine and carry out welding.
We are seeking candidates that possess the following welding skills.
* Working Off Shop Drawings
* Cutting Steel to Shop Drawings
* Laying out Steel to design on Bench or Jigs
* Tack welding
* MIG GMAW - Welding
* Welding - 1G, 2G & 3G Positions (as a minimum)
* Cleaning up welds
* Quality Control
* Working Days & Hours
Working Days & Hours
* Working Days: Monday to Friday / Occasional Saturday Optional
* Start Times: Flexibility with start times between – 4:30 AM to 7:00 AM
* Finish Times: Flexibility with finish times between – 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
* Working Hours: Between 9 to 12 per day (Depending on start & finish times)
The Candidate
Candidates that have the following metal trade qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be proficient in the following, where a weld test may be required on interview;
* MIG – GMAW
* 1G, 2G & 3G Positions (as a minimum)
* Familiar with welding Mild Steel
* Can interpret Shop Drawings
* Can layout Steel on Bench or adjustable Jigs
* Walkways
* Ladders
* Hand Rails
In addition, candidates must possess the following;
