We are seeking a reporter to create content for broadcast, social media and online platforms to engage and inform audiences.The position is based in Mackay but serves a region including Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays, the mining region west to Moranbah and Dysart and agricultural areas south to Sarina and St Lawrence. It is a diverse region, with fishing, snorkelling, rainforests, and tropical islands on your doorstep. The region boasts more than 30 beaches, a thriving arts community and other great lifestyle opportunities. The JobWe are looking for a dynamic and driven reporter to create news content for multiple platforms. Reporting to the Editor ABC Tropical North, the role will involve:Creating multi-platform content under routine Editor direction and with colleaguesPresenting news bulletins, Q&As, interviews, and breaking stories across platformsSupporting Local Emergency Coverage and liaise with stakeholders as neededDeveloping local content for sharing with News teams and across ABC platformsPromoting ABC values and follow workplace policies and guidelinesAbout YouYou are a highly motivated reporter with a strong knowledge of local and national news issues.
