What we are offering:


We offer flexible hybrid working (2 days a week working from home), a basic work week of 35 hours, RDO 1 day per month, superannuation above the mandatory amount and a vibrant and supportive workplace situated just 10 meters from the stunning Fremantle waterfront.

About the Role:


This role provides day-to-day technical support to users in Australia and New Zealand, managing employees' hardware and software in line with KONGSBERG standards. The role is responsible for installing and troubleshooting devices, handling Remedy tickets, and delivering basic end-user training.

Furthermore, the role supports local IT infrastructure by ensuring network and server compliance, coordinating internet services, and following corporate guidance on firewalls and security, including access control. The IT Support Engineer also assists with application issues, supports system implementations, and raises new IT service needs through approved channels.

The role also covers IT requirements which are necessary for Defence related activity, such as Cybersecurity adherence, ISO27001 accreditation and Defence Industry Security Protocol (DISP) accreditation. Due to Defence security requirements for this role, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an NV1 security clearance, which requires Australian citizenship.

The role also requires the holder to stay up to date with corporate IT regulations, attending required training and conferences, and maintaining ongoing skill development. No infrastructure changes can be made without KONGSBERG IT approval.

Accountabilities:



IT Support

* Local User Support
* Normal day-to-day user support and troubleshooting
* Client Hardware (HW)
* Client HW must be sourced locally, and in accordance with corporate standards from KONGSBERG.
* Follow the Asset Management process.
* Client HW Configuration
* Install, configure and troubleshoot the following: printers, video conference, IP phones, mobile devices and (laptop & desktop) computers onsite.
* Client Software (SW)
* Corporate software agreement should be used when available.
* SW provided by KONGSBERG IT should be obtained through Remedy.
* List of approved SW is available in the Client Software Reference List which is available on Inside.
* Installation of new software (or new major versions) must be approved prior purchase (request approval in Remedy).
* Strive to standardize software, both for similar software and versions.
* Agreements and license documentation must be archived in Snow License Manager.
* ITC should encourage license compliance at own office.
* End User Training
* Train end-users in how to use mainstream products/services like the Office suite, remote access, etc.
* Remedy Ticket Handling
* Handle tickets assigned to the local queue daily.
* All tickets in Remedy must be updated and resolved as soon as possible.

IT Infrastructure

* Infrastructure Compliance
* Assist KONGSBERG IT in any issues regarding local IT infrastructure (network and servers).
* Responsible for assuring that the local IT infrastructure is compliant with security regulations.
* Management/maintenance of local servers
* Network
* Making sure that no unauthorized access, from visitors or others, occurs within the network.
* Making sure LAN cables and patching are in accordance with KONGSBERG ITs current requirements and specifications.
* Internet Connection Operation
* Purchase Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and latency.
* Purchases must be pre-approved by KONGSBERG IT and in accordance with KONGSBERG IT Department's current requirements.
* Firewall (FW)
* Carry out instructions from KONGSBERG IT Operation.
* The parameters are set for all KONGSBERG FW's are managed and controlled by KONGSBERG IT Operation.
* Computer Storage
* Work with end users to discipline their use of common data storage. These storage areas are limited and are critical areas and the following guidelines should be adopted:

a. Private files like e.g. images, videos or mp3 files are not allowed.

b. Avoid redundancy by storing the same information several times.

c. Use common file shares (number directories) for sharing information between several users (and sites).

d. Clean up and delete old data, when no longer needed.

IT Business Solutions

* Assist KONGSBERG IT in any issues regarding applications.
* Be of local assistance during implementation and migration conducted by IT Business Solutions.
* All local need for new IT Services must be raised to IT by using the New Initiative form in Remedy. Purchases must be pre-approved by KONGSBERG IT and in accordance with KONGSBERG IT Department's current requirements.
* Be familiar with the IT services available for all users listed in IT Service Catalogue.

Other Expectations

* Participating in the bi-yearly IT Support Coordinator Conference arranged by KONGSBERG IT.
* Ability to gain and maintain NV1 security clearance in Australia.
* The IT Support Coordinator cannot make any changes in the subsidiary's IT infrastructure without approval from KONGSBERG IT Infrastructure.
* If the IT Support Coordinator for some reason is not available, he or she must ensure coverage from IT support overseas.
* The IT Support Coordinator must attend the regular monthly training conducted by KONGSBERG IT, and act according to corporate rules and regulations from KONGSBERG.
* The IT Support Coordinator is expected to keep up to date on and loyal to the company's IT regulations. At the same time keep up to date on information passed through the official information channels.
* The IT Support Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the development of own skills and qualifications in cooperation with KONGSBERG IT. This responsibility is shared with the employee's manager.

Qualifications:

* Diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science (or equivalent experience).

Experiences:

* Minimum 2–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support roles.
* Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices).
* Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, Office 365, and common enterprise applications.
* Familiarity with ticketing systems
* Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, patching).
* Experience with server environments and local infrastructure support is an advantage.
* Understanding of asset management, software licensing, and corporate IT compliance requirements.
