About the role
The Case Worker Starting Strong Family Support provides culturally safe, educational and responsive support to infants, young children and their families referred to theStarting Strong Family Support Program.
To be considered for this position
* Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or degree, or post graduate qualifications in Psychology or other related field.
* Demonstrated experience and skills in providing parenting support to vulnerable families that is child focused and family centred, educating and empowering parents to improve outcomes for their children.
* Demonstrated case management experience in the context of child and family services and facilitating case conferences and group activities.
* Demonstrated experience with family assessments, including a solid understanding of child development and the impact of trauma on children including neglect.
* Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of factors influencing the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families in Central Australia.
* Current NT Drivers License.
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
