Overview

The role of House Manager involves overseeing the daily operations of several residences in Brisbane, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment for children and young people with high and complex needs. As a key member of the team, you will guide and coach youth workers to apply therapeutic approaches to interactions, promoting growth and resilience.

Responsibilities

">
">
* Build trusting relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
">
* Ensure the home is emotionally and physically safe, engaging, and stimulating, fostering growth and resilience.
">
* Manage, support, and provide reflective supervision to residential workers, leading them to work as a cohesive team for the best interests of children and young people.
">
* Support staff to apply Therapeutic Crisis Intervention systems to prevent, de-escalate, and respond to crisis incidents.
">
* Coordinate intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and exits to permanent homes or step-down services.
">
* Ensure up-to-date client information on CIRTS databases.
">

Requirements

">
">
* A Certificate IV in Child, Youth, or Family Interventions (Residential and OOHC) or higher is required.
">
* Experience working with trauma-affected children and disadvantageous backgrounds is essential.
">
* Proven ability to manage and lead teams, managing crises and critical situations effectively.
">
* Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and First Aid/CPR certificates are mandatory.
">
* Hope and Healing Framework Foundations completion is expected prior to commencing.
">
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
