The Role
We’re looking for a vibrant and supportive HR leader to facilitate and role model best practice people & culture processes across the Mornington Peninsula area by improving the capability of our people leaders, employee engagement, retention, and commercial outcomes.
The People & Culture Business Partner provides coaching on recruitment, training, HR, and rostering to support and educate our leaders in alignment with the Central People & Culture strategy. The role involves a variety of business as usual and project activities focusing on:
Educating leaders on effective roster practices, workforce planning, personnel cost control, and compliance
Supporting leaders in planning and executing recruitment strategies, analyzing turnover, forecasting needs, and enhancing recruitment capabilities
Monitoring qualification gap compliance and providing education to eliminate mandatory qualification gaps
Providing coaching on managing people issues, performance improvement, and documentation
Building community relationships with local employment agencies and schools, and participating in job expos
Core Focus Areas
Roster Excellence: Developing rostering education resources and standards
Recruitment Excellence: Preparing recruitment forecasts and strategies
Qualification Excellence: Improving qualification reporting and supporting leaders
People Support: Monitoring compliance and performance cycles
This is a generalist HR role offering scope for learning and growth within a fast-paced organization managing facilities on behalf of the Mornington Council.
About You
You are passionate, patient, and adept at managing multiple stakeholders. You enjoy structure, governance, and supporting people through conversations. You will contribute to the professionalism and culture of our client group, supporting in ways that may challenge traditional HR views. A team player who is proactive and adaptable is essential.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Graduate qualifications in HR or business, or progress towards such qualifications, with relevant experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and education in human resource management
Experience advising on operational and strategic HR matters
Knowledge of employment legislation (e.g., Fair Work Act)
Leadership skills and ability to build high-performing teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
Knowledge of workforce issues specific to aquatic facility management
