The Role
As a General Practitioner, you will deliver clinical care onsite at a secure defence facility. This will include providing routine and after-hours medical support, ensuring the health and wellbeing of staff in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. This role is suited to GPs with sound clinical judgment, strong patient focus, and adaptability working within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Duties
* Deliver medical care for staff onsite during clinic hours and on-call after hours.
* Conduct health checks, take patient histories, and perform physical exams.
* Diagnose conditions and advise patients on treatment plans.
* Prescribe and manage medication according to practice guidelines.
* Keep accurate patient records, always following health information policies.
* Ensure patients get continuous care and timely follow-ups.
* Provide effective customer service to help patients access the care they need.
* Arrange specialist referrals when further care is required.
* Review and act promptly on lab, imaging, and other diagnostic reports.
* Help update clinic protocols and support process improvements.
* Represent the clinic at health events or community activities as needed.

Requirements
* Australian or US citizenship (required).
* Unconditional Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
* Minimum five years' experience as a General Practitioner.
* Current ALS and CPR certification.
* Strong clinical skills and patient care focus.
* Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to professional integrity, safeguarding, and patient wellbeing.
* Previous experience in defence, remote, or operational settings is highly regarded.
* This position is based 100% onsite in Alice Springs.
