Hays Recruitment Canberra is partnering with a large and internationally focused Federal Government Department who is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented APS5 Project Officer to join a dynamic team within the Australian Public Service. This role is pivotal in supporting project management activities, ensuring the successful delivery of key initiatives.
Your new role
As an APS5 Project Officer, you will work as part of a strong and supportive team to perform tasks inclusive of, but not limited to the following.
* Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
* Conduct research and analysis to support project objectives.
* Prepare project documentation, including reports and presentations.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
* Identify and mitigate risks to project success.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you must have recent prior experience working in a similar position within the Australian Public Service and must be able to demonstrate experience in the following.
* Proven experience in project management or a related field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Understanding of APS policies and procedures
This position is only open to Australian citizens, and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (NV1, NV2 or TSPV)
