About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nurse Consultant to join our CAMHS team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical nursing/midwifery expertise for individual patients, clients, groups, or populations. This includes delivering clinical leadership within a specified area of practice (mental health), exercising autonomy and decision-making in clinical practice, coordinating and leading team clinical activities and programs to improve patient, client, and service outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing and experience in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people, and their families experiencing complex, acute, or chronic mental illness/trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioral disturbance. They will also possess effective leadership skills, including highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize workload to meet set timelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing clinical nursing/midwifery expertise for individual patients, clients, groups, or populations
* Delivering clinical leadership within a specified area of practice (mental health)

* Coordinating and leading team clinical activities and programs to improve patient, client, and service outcomes
Requirements
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice
* Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience
* Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people, and their families experiencing complex, acute, or chronic mental illness/trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioral disturbance
* Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
