Shark Bay Salt Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd, which is one of the worlds most diversified trading, investment and services enterprises. We own and operate two salt fields in Western Australia – Shark Bay Resources and Onslow Salt. Shark Bay Resources operates 38 crystalliser ponds at Useless Loop and exports high quality salt to various overseas markets.
Life at Useless Loop:
The community of Useless Loop has a small shop, library, mess, tavern, fuel, fortnightly doctors' visits, on site MESO (Medical Emergency Services Officer) with a modern well-equipped medical centre, and a Primary School up to, and including Year 6.
Fishing and camping are common activities in the community with Shark Bay ranking as one of the most popular recreational fishing destinations in Western Australia for small boat and shore-based anglers.
The Role:
The Town Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the below duties, not limited too.
* Coordinate and schedule the activities and work performance of the town maintenance team.
* Ensure accurate maintenance history records are maintained.
* Monitor the teams progress and report any scheduling issues.
* Monitor, review and manage work practices to ensure quality standards and time commitments are met.
* Manage workplace safety and minimise risks to team members, the environment and company assets.
* Assist with the establishment of weekly maintenance plans.
* Manage timekeeping of Maintenance Team, authorise leave allocations and approve training assignments as necessary.
* Liaise with Operations and Administration departments to achieve required business and town outcomes.
* Conduct annual performance reviews of all Town Maintenance team members.
* Assisting Town Maintenance with installing, repairing, maintaining.
About you:
* You will have experience in building and mine site NPI infrastructure with a trade background.
* Be able to clearly identify priorities and follow approved maintenance plans.
* Experience in working with remote housing and corrosive environments.
* Plumber, Carpenter, or allied building Trade Qualification.
* Be self-motivated and shows initiative.
* Preferably have a good understanding of Pronto or a similar ERP system.
* Western Australian "C" class Licence.
* Willingness to undergo a Pre Employment Medical.
* A demonstrated commitment to safety.
* Ability to obtain and retain a Marine Security Identification Card.
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
