We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Feeders Product Vertical.
In this role, you will manage your own portfolio of projects, providing you with the opportunity to take ownership and drive innovation.
The ideal candidate will possess mechanical engineering expertise in industrial machinery, with a particular focus on feeder components such as chains, sprockets, shafts, drives belts and take-up systems.
You will be expected to utilise relevant codes, references and calculations to ensure robust and effective design solutions.
About the Role
Review and interpret drawings, providing clear technical inputs to designers and ensuring constructability
Carry out engineering work with bulk materials handling equipment such as feeders, hoppers, conveyors and transfer chutes
Apply first principles and best-practice methods to select and size key components (shafts, drives, take-ups etc.)
Use engineering software – AutoCAD or Inventor for concept development, with exposure to FEA as an advantage
Troubleshoot technical challenges, carry out root cause analysis, and implement practical solutions
Manage engineering tasks and assigned project scope, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery
Prepare, submit and resolve technical queries (TQs/clarifications) with clients and suppliers
Support Capital Sales and Estimators with product selection and conceptual design input for tenders and bids.
Apply codes, standards and references to deliver safe, reliable and compliant designs
Develop concepts and designs where standard solutions do not fit
About You
Mechanical Engineering Bachelors degree with ***** years experience essential
Exposure to the design of bulk materials handling equipment, mainly conveyor-based systems, including component sizing such as shafts, drives, and take-up assemblies.
Experience supporting design and selection of equipment within mining or heavy industrial environments (preferably conveyors, feeders or gates)
Experienced in machine design and regularly engaged with technical drawings and queries from workshops, vendors, and clients.
Strong ability to interface with clients and manage engineering activities from start to finish across active projects, ensuring alignment between technical, commercial, and delivery requirements.
Experience with 3D modelling software (e.g. Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and exposure to FEA tools desirable)
Completion of TUNRA & Practical Belt Conveying courses or equivalent recognised training in bulk materials handling preferred
Infrequent local, domestic and international travel may be required
