About Us Chitchat news agency is a busy retail store in Victor Harbor, SA dedicated to providing friendly, reliable service and quality products to the local community and travellers. We take pride in keeping our operations efficient, our shelves stocked and our customers satisfied.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to lead the daily operations of our retail shop. You’ll oversee store performance, manage staff, maintain stock levels and ensure smooth, secure and customer-focused operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and manage product range, stock levels and service standards to meet business goals and customer expectations.

- Develop and implement purchasing, pricing and marketing strategies to increase sales and profitability.

- Promote and advertise the station’s products and services through local marketing and in-store initiatives.

- Serve customers as needed, offering product advice and ensuring excellent service.

- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales and financial transactions.

- Prepare and manage budgets to support cost control and store performance targets.

- Recruit, train and supervise staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations.

- Monitor store performance, identify improvement areas and implement operational changes where needed.

- Manage supplier relationships and coordinate timely replenishment of stock deliveries.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail management or supervisory role .

- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Solid understanding of stock control, budgeting and retail operations.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required.

- Commitment to upholding safety standards and providing excellent customer service.
