Accounts Officer Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our finance team. This role is focused on managing the end-to-end accounts function, including AR & AP invoice processing.

You will be responsible for processing customer invoices for our wholesale business, processing supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations for our retail business, supporting retail site managers with invoice, goods receipting, and payment queries, reconciling sub ledgers, supplier statements, and assisting with month-end reporting, setting up and maintaining accounts and key financial data, helping document and improve financial processes, liaising with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, and providing support with projects as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process customer invoices for our wholesale business
* Process supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations for our retail business
* Support retail site managers with invoice, goods receipting, and payment queries
* Reconcile sub ledgers, supplier statements, and assist with month-end reporting
* Set up and maintain accounts and key financial data
* Help document and improve financial processes
* Liaise with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
* Provide support with projects as the business expands

Requirements:

* 3+ years of experience in an accounts or finance support role
* Experience using accounting software – Sage/Octane experience is highly favorable
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities – especially in handling complex or challenging conversations
* High level of accuracy, accountability, and professional integrity
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Dynamic and solutions-focused mindset, with the initiative to identify and improve inefficiencies
