Grounds & Maintenance Officer | Ridgecrest Village (ACT)
Full-time | $35.00 per hour | Outdoor + hands-on role
At Levande, we’re looking for a Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team at Ridgecrest Village in the ACT. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on gardens and outdoor presentation, combined with general maintenance across the village.
You’ll play a key role in keeping the community looking its best while ensuring everything runs smoothly for residents.
About the Role
This is a varied, on-the-ground role where no two days are the same.
You’ll spend much of your time maintaining gardens and landscaped areas, while also supporting general maintenance and upkeep across the village.
You’ll be visible in the community and take pride in creating a safe, well-presented environment for residents and visitors.
What You’ll Be Doing
Grounds & Gardens (Primary Focus)
* Maintain lawns, gardens and landscaped areas to a high standard
* Planting, pruning, mulching, watering and general horticulture
* Monitor plant health and proactively maintain presentation
* Respond to garden maintenance requests
Maintenance & Village Upkeep
* Carry out general maintenance tasks across the village
* Maintain outdoor common areas (pathways, patios, BBQ areas, furniture)
* Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of shared facilities
* Support waste management and bin maintenance
* Conduct basic inspections of equipment and common areas
General
* Operate tools and equipment safely
* Follow WHS procedures and safe work practices
* Build positive relationships with residents
What You’ll Bring
* Experience in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance
* Practical, hands-on approach with basic maintenance skills
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Good physical fitness and attention to detail
* Friendly, approachable manner with a customer focus
Nice to have:
* Experience in retirement living, facilities or similar environments
* Driver’s licence
