For the position of Vehicle Painter, the employee will be part of a team responsible for preparing surfaces and applying a range of paint using a variety of techniques for the desired finish.
For the painting of trucks, parts, cranes, buses, caravans, heavy machinery and other industrial equipment.
The job may require flexible hours, and offsite work may also be required
Responsibilities
Surface preparation – clean, sand, fill and prime surfaces to be painted,removing rust and other materials
Masking – apply masking tape and coverings to protect areas not being painted
Paint mixing – select and mix paints and coatings to achieve the correct colour,consistency and specifications for the job
Application – operate spray guns and equipment to apply primer, base coats andclear coats evenly
Quality control – inspect painted products to ensure they meet qualitystandards, monitoring for drips, runs and inconsistencies
Buffing – operate buffing machines, apply polish to remove imperfections andachieve a desired level of shine
Maintenance – clear and maintain spray guns, hoses and other equipment toensure optimal performance
Safety – follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protectiveequipment (PPE)
Skills required Attention to detail – crucial for preparing surfaces, matching colours and
ensuring high-quality finish

paint application
