The role
TasPorts is seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our State-wide Security Operations Centre in Launceston as Casual Security Operations Officers.
This role forms part of a 24/7 operation and offers a varied and dynamic opportunity within a critical area of the business. As a Security Operations Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements under the TasPorts Maritime Security Plan, as well as State and Federal legislation.
This role is based on site at the Launceston office, successful candidates will be required to undertake a 2 week training period working full time hours Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor security systems and respond to operational demands across multiple locations.
* Manage access control and ensure compliance with maritime security protocols.
* Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to incidents.
* Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
About You
You bring strong customer service experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment. You're confident using computer systems and have well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
What You Will Have
* Background in compliance, customer service centres, security, or emergency operations.
* Experience in maritime or aviation industries (highly regarded).
* Tasmanian Security Employee Licence (Cert II) - required.
* Monitoring Room Operator qualification - desirable.
* Willingness to obtain required qualifications (support provided).
* Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, as well as ad-hoc 4 hour shifts including weekends and public holidays - both day and night.
