About the Role
This position involves assembling products to completion and to a high standard. You will work as part of the Production Team and be responsible for a variety of mechanical assembly tasks. Structured training and product specific support will be provided to the successful applicant. Prior experience in a similar role is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble parts and machines to a high standard, following all QC processes
* Assemble and mount components to trucks and trailers
* Maintain a professional approach and strong attention to detail
* Complete paperwork accurately for each job
* Report to the Workshop Manager or Leading Hand
About You
You will have a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Requirements
* Recent relevant experience or a trade qualification involving mechanical assembly
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and technical documents
* Experience fitting fabricated metal parts, assembling components, and preparing engines, pumps, gears, shafts, and gear cases
* Experience with chassis, axles, wheels, brakes, leaf springs, and small machine assembly
* Ability to wire and connect 12V/24V systems, including tail lights
* Competency with general hand and power tools
* Ability to check fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy and clearances
* Ability to set guides, stops, and controls on machining tools and presses
* Basic machining abilities for fitting requirements
* Ability to install and commission machines and equipment
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
* High level of self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
* Willingness to participate as part of a team
* Ability to maintain cleanliness associated with assembly work
