Medical Receptionist Job Description
The Medical Receptionist role at Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service involves providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to clients in the Wellington community.
This is a high-profile position where you will be the primary point of contact for clients, handling appointments, client data, and transport services to support clinic operations and health programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain confidentiality and dignity when dealing with sensitive client information
* Ensure confidentiality of personnel and client information at all times
* Provide professional front desk customer service
* Answer and transfer calls efficiently
* Coordinate appointments, update systems, and manage phone triage
* Generate reports as required
* Develop an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal communities
* Ensure compliance with EEO, WHS, and ethical practices
* Transport clients to and from the hospital or home as scheduled
* Respond to emergency client pickups
* Deliver and collect medications, pathology, supplies, and equipment
* Keep accurate logs of journeys and pickups
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any damages
* Use log books daily
* Operate vehicles and fuel cards according to WACHS procedures
* Assist with fleet maintenance and servicing
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Certificate of Aboriginality
* Current National Police Check
* Working With Children Check NSW
* Australian Driver's License
* COVID-19 vaccination and booster (or valid exemption)
* Excellent communication skills, particularly when interacting with Aboriginal communities
* Computer skills, including appointment and patient information systems
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues
* Previous receptionist experience
